The Conference
Up to now China has been thought of only as the leading PV manu-
facturing base for solar cells and modules with 90% of its products
being exported to Europe and the USA. However, the rapid fall in
prices in 2011 has now made China’s domestic market attractive. The
total installed capacity of PV power generation targeted by the 12th
Five Year Plan (2011-2015) has been raised to 10 to 15 GW.
Through this, China will become one of the largest PV markets in
the world. The number of projects has already skyrocketed. Industry
experts now predict as much as 5 GW in 2012 alone.
The conference, powered by pv magazine, aims at connecting
Chinese and international project developers to share their experi-
ences and further advance China’s domestic market, as well as over-
seas markets.
Around 200 participants are expected, with the event being tar-
geted primarily at project developers and investors. The event will
provide the know-how to successfully install PV systems, covering
all steps from planning through to monitoring the installed system.
