Commitment to sustainability
Solarpraxis is committed to several social projects related to renewable energies:
Solarpraxis donation for victims of the East Africa famine
East Africa currently suffers from one of the driest periods in decades caused by two consecutive rainy periods in the past year. The continuing drought is compounded by high grain prices, an increased livestock death rate as well as lasting conflicts and restricted humanitarian access to some regions. Large parts of Somalia have been afflicted by civil war for more than 20 years and expellees have great difficulty reaching the few places providing food aid or medical care. This exceedingly difficult situation of the people was the determining reason for the decision to make a non-sustainable donation. In August 2011, Solarpraxis AG is thus once again actively supporting disaster relief. >> more

Promotion of alternative energies in the Caribbean
The Association for the Promotion of Alternative Energies in the Caribbean KarEn was founded in May 1992 with the goal of supporting the transformation of energy supplies in Caribbean countries. Its members aim to help Caribbean countries reduce their dependence on oil imports through maximum use of sun, wind and water power and biomass. Solarpraxis has been a regular supporter of the association since 2006 , most recently in April 2010 providing 10 fully functional computers including monitors and IT accessories.
Villa Wissen (Villa Knowlegde)
The day care center at Karl-Schrader-Straße 9 in Berlin has its own Villa Wissen or Villa Knowledge where children and their teachers can explore natural scientific phenomena in a real laboratory. This site for experiments for very young children was initiated and set up by the Neighborhood Center in the Schöneberg district, Berlin. The childrens' lab is one of more than 50 similar sites organized by the "Haus der kleinen Forscher" initiative (Little Scientists' House) of the Helmholtz Association. In 2007, Solarpraxis donated the money for furnishing the Villa.
Solar library
Solarpraxis AG has donated a number of books and technical magazines to Germany's first solar library. The books from Solarpraxis AG's publishing house cover a range of topics on renewable energies and have been available to library users of the Bücherei St. Nikolaus in Bonn since 2008.
