Ground-breaking knowledge for renewable energy – engineering and communication
The history of Berlin-based company Solarpraxis starts in 1992. The two founders-to-be, Dipl.-Ing. Karl-Heinz Remmers and Kay Neubert, started planning and installing solar power systems in a garage during their degree studies.
Then, in 1998, Dipl.-Ing. Karl-Heinz Remmers, Kay Neubert and later Holger Bedurke founded Solarpraxis, first as a partnership, then since 2000 as a stock company (german Aktiengesellschaft). The underlying principle of the company has always been to offer top services and ground-breaking products that drive the industry forward, operating in the territory between technological advance and the communication work involved in this area. As one of the leading consulting and service companies in the renewable energies industry, Solarpraxis and its two subsidiaries – Solarpraxis Engineering GmbH and Sunbeam GmbH – employ around 60 people.
Through its publishing arm, the pv magazine group, the knowledge provider publishes several renowned industry journals and online publications in the form of pv magazine global edition, pv magazine Deutschland, pv magazine China, pv magazine Japan and pv magazine Latinoamérica. The conferences department organises highly recognised industry get-togethers, among them the Forum Solarpraxis, which has been held since 1999 and is Europe’s largest business-oriented solar power conference.
The core of the company has always been its engineering activities, which since 1 January 2014 have been conducted within Solarpraxis Engineering GmbH, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Solarpraxis AG. The engineers employed there work in the fields of systems planning, technical marketing, appraisals and technical operations, predominantly in the fields of photovoltaics and solar thermal energy, and also in the field of heat pumps, alongside related communication and storage technology.
Through its subsidiary Sunbeam GmbH, Solarpraxis AG also has direct access to professional communications services in the fields of public relations, new media and graphic design. Sunbeam also publishes industry reports on various topics related to renewable energies.
